    How about we take the cities out and see how the GDP has increased in the
    rest of the region, here, as in the article meaning and area of land as
    opposed to beyond the cities.

    That would make the growth look better wouldn't it?

    18% growth in Northland unlikely to be fueled just by Whangarei. 32% growth in Marlborough unlikely to be led just by Blenheim.

    It's the agricultural hinterland driving it.
