I suspect that a year ago this would not have been published - the
criticism of our neo-liberal government would have seen it dropped.
But times are changing, and fairness is something that New Zealanders
are realising has been lost. "Captain Sensible" is no longer seen as
sensible, just a crony beneficiary grubbing for what he can get from
    the crooks in charge .. . .

What a load of crap. The media is full of this twaddle or some cry of
    the week.
Why would anyone want to return the 1970s unless you are a Marxist
    git.
move on. Because the country has.
    life is good.

I have always supported people who wish to belong to a union. It is and must be a personal choice.
Having said that, arguably the worst piece of legislation this clountry has ever seen was enabling compulsory unionism which for decades removed the right to choose. The best piece was the removal of that appalling law.

Silly article - descends into crap about redundancy payment. I've never understood why an employer, who was good enough to appoint someone,
should have to pay when his/her fortunes change and can no longer employ
them. It would make more sense to charge another business who hadn't
been decent enough to take them on in the first place.

A year ago the media would have had more sense than to publish the
article, which is basically dishonest by omission. Among other things it
fails to mention that the "u-turn" of which it complains was brought
about largely by the unions themselves attempting to hold employers and
    the public to ransom.

Think the Mangere bridge. Think the BNZ building in Wellington. Think
the Cook Strait ferries, when strikes were called regularly to coincide
with school holidays and other periods of peak usage in order to create
maximum disruption, and featherbedding by the unions was rampant.

They brought the changes down on their own heads ........

Still pushing the same trolling bullshit I see rich. Making union
membership voluntary was the best thing that ever happened. It released
the country from the parasites sucking the life out of workers with
their exorbitant charges and crippling business because of it's blind
belief that they should be obeyed like the dictatorial marxist muppets
they and their puppet Liebor party are.

    Pooh
