the resident 'experts' passing judgment on all such posts & giving
sagelike advice etc etc, blah blah blah, and 'coz not one of 'em knows wtf they're talking about lol :P

so anyway (laughing) i gots talkin' to one dude in there, not a totally unreasonable chap, and is just a bit annoyed at fuckin' 'aliens' and shit spoiling our world, perforce i told him up front that that's just all a
load of sensationalised bollocks, but instead of just getting annoyed at
moi as well, wanted to talk?

and we've had a couple of exchanges, this penultimate reply of mine below
being an attempt (on my part) to put him more in the picture so to
speak... to take him 'away' from the more emotive subject of scary fuckin' aliens and more to how things might 'actually' be...

This is actually very good Sam, [he's called sam] and i've even had a
similar experience myself, in that when i was very young i really got into astrology and tarot cards & the occult and stuff, it was strange and fascinating, and once you understood all the terms and reference points involved even made some kinda logical + contextual sense and added up, and
i was really getting into all this for real...

One day, however, i was struck with the seemingly undeniable fact, that if
i 'really' examined all this then i didn't really know IF all this was
really correct or not? The more i looked at it the clearer it became that
i did not 'really' know what i was doing, i was only going through the
motions of knowing? Somehow 'making' it work and making it all add up in
my mind?? And not only this but other subjects as well! That we apparently
have this ability then, to 'project' ourselves into an idea and then
'relate' to that concept exclusively??

There and then I dropped the whole occult thing like a hot brick! Better
to be NAKED (know absolutely nada) than to be living a lie?? And now
everywhere i go i see people living all these 'different' lies?! They've
got aliens coming out their ears but they don't KNOW if it's true! They've
just come to 'believe' that story and relate exclusively to it is all!

LOADS of different stories and ALL of it bs!

Thus our world is literally filled to the brim with various cultures & conceptual beliefs all vying + competing for our attention, any one of
which we could immerse ourselves in and it would become totally real to us!

As long as we don't question it that is ;)

I was always a non-joiner except for hockey, sail boat racing
and playing guitar.

I slowly realized I must create a set of ideas to wear as clothes.
Some words are so dead, examples: universe, matrix or ego, that
they had to be replaced.

Those who see dopplegangers in any form; aliens, ghosts or ufo's
should simply stop trying to dig their way to china.

Sometimes letting go of old ideas is a profoundly painful journey.

Kudos for being tolerant.

Yeah, you might end up believing Brian has an IQ of 160+, the russians
didn't shoot down MH17, climate change is natural and not
anthropogenic, Brian smokes plenty of green and has a good source for
it to boot, einsiedlerkrebs is not technically insane and the lowrider
guy hasn't put all his time and effort into believing in a
supernatural tooth fairy and an afterlife.
