The last 30 seconds of this video is what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E-m3Jv_l2U

Let's call the moon our 'sister'. :)

The last thought recently reemphasized to me is how utterly
banal and foolish it is to predict the end of the world.

The world ends and begins again
    3,600,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 per second.
This civilization ended numerous times and is an infant bacteria colony.

Well, whatever you're talking about, it obviously wasn't the end
of either our world or our civilization.

It leaves me wondering how many hundreds of times this has
been done since Homo Erectus made sharp cutting tools.

As said many time small planet, small galaxy, single lightmach.

    Big claims.

    "Come on children
    You're acting like children
    Every generation thinks
It's the end of the world"

So that was our morning announcement, class. :)
Now back to the news, a few nice short excerpts...

I only stopped by to inject some geometry into the data stacks.

Yeah, point sphere. Wow. :) (You know, I studied multiple geometries
in college - topology, etc. as part of a mathematics degree.)

I know the tally from the elections already

Ah. Why don't you tell us "the tally from the elections", then?
Yet somehow I doubt that you'll be doing that... :)

just taking care 8's ant farm.
He played with the dinosaurs. He'll take that red bridge back if you want. You,ll forget it ever happened. There is geometry and momenum. Time is a
    mirage.

Yeah, sure. Okay. So if "time is a mirage", then am I dead or alive? :)
I can't be both at once. Similarly, does the earth exist or does it
not exist? (It's 4.6 billion years old thus for the first 9 billion
years of the universe it wasn't here.)

    There’s a scientist and God.
The scientist challenges God to a contest of who can make the better human
being. God tells him that he’s on.
The scientist, in great delight, bends over to pick up some dust to make his
    human being.
Then God says, ‘No, no no… you go and make your own dust.

Humans are vertebrates. We evolved from the line of chordates,
from fish. That line goes back a little over half a billion years. :)
So no one - including 'God' - ever actually "made" a human being.
No 'God' ever made a tree or a flower either. Those evolved from algae.
    etc.

    you have schizophrenia." -Thomas Szasz

Most psychiatry is still somewhat soft science.
But several people I've known have seriously benefitted from it.
Speaking of your own beliefs you said:
"My therapist thought that was crazy."

But you didn't seem to think much of that particular therapist.
Do you have any others? If so, what do they think?
