Is it possible to send or receive e-mail outside the BBS to let check mails directly on the BBS too?

Like I've seen on Synchronet.

nope g00r00 wont add that. its just made so you can use those to check the emails on the bbs via pop3 smtp

Not with Mystic, its POP/SMTP support is only for using an email client to access the local email board.

Yes, Synchronet does allow external email. I run 2 boards, one with Mystic, one with Synchronet, so I'm familiar with the differences between the two systems.

No, the SMTP and POP3 are just for BBS email only.

this is true. in 1.08 when we had the smtp and pop in mis while every one
else had tserver i made a mpl that would display a email address thinking i could get emails. hehe still have it on the bbs here but disabled ha

It's not a must have for me either, but I would be particularly interested if there was the ability to do GIGO style gating of email, where email could be routed to other FTN systems via netmail. That would be particularly useful for those of us hosting mailing lists, because FTN participants would be reachable via email. Obviously, you need a wildcard MX record for your domain, but that's no biggie if you have control of your DNS.

As I said, not a show stopper, just a bit of icing on the cake. Not even Synchronet goes that far.
