So first up you're talking about the dir toss option for echo nodes - right?
..and assuming that's a yes, then is the problem about where you think packets for that node should be appearing etc. ?
..and assuming that's a yes, then is the problem about where you thin packets for that node should be appearing etc. ?
yes.. because the files are going to him not packets
So what is the problem?
The files to be sent to the node are
a) not being dropped into the right directory you expect to see them in? b) are not being sent as compressed packets?
?? sorry there's just not enough info here yet for me to help you.
i am using filebox so i put the in and out dir for message packets sub direct there. i sent netmail and he does not get it or it does not show anything to send in fidopoll. he gets socket errors as i posted before that g00r00 replied to so i tried the other day to see if there were packets created in the out directory and there is non. logs are showing

And have you set the 'session type' on page one of his echo node
settings to 'directory'?
Those directory options are for Directory Tossing. Usually used tossing mail locally between systems or sending FidoNet via e-mail, or third
party FTP server, etc.
Why do you feel you needed to change where the packets were created?
There is a standard directory structure that has to be used for BSO FTN.
because i he is getting files from me but not packets and i dont see anything and i sent netmails and i dont see a packets with a timestamp
and when i manually fidopoll it shows 0 sent yet mutil shows 1 netmail. also we have the session password correct and proper case yet he gets authorization errors when connected to me
And have you set the 'session type' on page one of his echo node settings to 'directory'?

What you're trying to do (directory tossing) is not something that is
used with BINKP its something used instead of BINKP. If you're trying
to configure a hub where nodes connect via BINKP then you shouldn't be trying to use Directory Tossing. Set their session type to BinkP.
node. The latter assumes you have traffic set to normal or crash but not hold. If they are set to hold no amount of fidopollng the node is going
it was normal. i set it to crash and it sent messages i think it worked.
i set up directory to see if it was making packets and they are in the export list. they are getting files and .tic and the log shows it
created it but when i fidopoll it say 0 sent. i will get this together for you to look and email you with with this. remember i had a stroke in 2011 so im slow now.
Yep no worries we'll get you sorted out! It might be easiest to have
Avon log in and look around since he said he was willing. He's pretty much a wizard with Mystic and echomail but I am willing to help out as well.
There could be any number of issues, from not having ZIP files to addressing being incorrect. The only real way to know is to see the configuration and logs.
