    Hello Avon!

    Is there to your knowledge a particular reason that A39 has been only released as a Prealpha for Win32 and Win64?

    No. It was a chance find and I think g00r00 may have been sidetracked by
    other demands hence just those releases - my best guess..

    I expect when he resurfaces there will be an updated fuller release and/or a full alpha sooner than later - also my best guess :)

    On top of what Avon says I remember two posts from g00r00 about A39, these
    are from my AlphaTest setup so Message numbers won't match anyone else's:

    I also suggest you change the default Outbound Echomail path to use %system path%\echomail\out only and drop \fidonet as this may confuse
    some if they are not actually running fidonet from first install.

    Funny you mention that because I just changed the default last night in A39 to:

    \root\echomail\out\primary\

    So this will always work and provide a clean directory structure, because primary will always be the primary and then the rest will be the domain.zone.

    So if FSX is the primary and FidoNet is added you might have:

    \root\echomail\out\fidonet.001\
    \root\echomail\out\fidonet.002\
    \root\echomail\out\fidonet.003\
    \root\echomail\out\primary\

    i noticed the records for 1.12 have not changed but what data files did A27/A38 change since last?

    A38 changed the scan records for each message and file base. (.scn)

    A39 will change a lot of records. So far I have made changes to users.dat, mbases.dat, and fbases.dat. DOS date format has been converted to Unix or Julian day in many places. servers.dat will likely change. You'll no longer be able to access user passwords in any form, neither via data file or even view it as a SysOp. It will all be in the whatsnew for A39.
