I've got a question about File Transfer speeds and download time.
What baud rate is used to determine how fast one can download a file? I am doing some testing with 16-bit terminal emulators using a WiModem232 that has the capability of connecting anywhere from 300 baud to 38,400 baud from the computer to the WiModem232. The WiModem232 then connects via Telnet to other BBS's.
The transfer times listed when I select to download a file are
meaningless.
Does anyone use the transfer speeds as a reference? I'm just wondering if
that is a hold up from the dial-up connections from the past, or if it is really needed.
