• An odd question?

    Hello Avon,

One thing I noticed after installing the Raspberry version of Mystic
is that both MIS2 and the mail reader show up in a terminal window
with correctly looking Ansi boarders, Etc. But when I load Mystic -cfg
in a terminal window. It's hard to make out the various fields unless
one already knows what to expect. An example of what is seen when Mystic -cfg is loaded is:

ΓûÇΓ Configuration ûÇΓûÇΓ Servers ûÇΓûÇΓ Editors ûÇΓûÇ Other ûÇΓûÇΓû Exit ÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûà ‡Î“ûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇ ΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΠ“ûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓûÇΓ ûÇΓûÇ

All Raspberry terminals being used are employing the same default settings.

Yup. I checked and UTF-8 is set as the default Codepage in Mystic. If I login via the mailreader script everything looks fine. As does both the MIS and MIS2
terminal windows. But if I login locally, or if I run Mystic -cfg or run Mutil
then the display is "Messed Up". I checked and UTF-8 is the default Codepage for Raspbian. This display behavior I have only seen on the PI3.

OK well on the Pi2 it turns out I got better results with setting both
default codepage and local codepage to CP437 and all seemed pretty good :)
    Give that a go. :)

Seems the Pi3 is the same way. I left Raspbian's codepage set to UTF-8 but
set Mystic's default codepage to CP437 and Mystic shows up fine now in
terminal windows. Thanks Avon. I will try changing Raspbian's default
codepage also just to test it.

It doesn't do that in Linux 64. It might be the PI.

I have my bbs set to choose at login, for that very reason. But I don't login very much from console.

Here on this Raspberry PI3 I noticed the behavior but not on the other Linux based installations of Mystic. Changing the default in Mystic seems to have fixed the display issue.
