• TIC Files Sending to downlinks

From Nugax@21:1/107 to All on Monday, September 25, 2017 07:10:52
I have a machine that serves FTN networks. It has a few downlinks.
Mail and netmail (echo) work fine.

However, I seem to have a couple issues with some file area echos. Running latest Mystic.

I am sure its config but let me describe what I have set:

I get TIC files. And the files corresponding. These are processed locally ont hat machine. I have the filehub echo turned to OFF.

So, then I run the TIC switch of mutil and it, in theory, should push all
TICS to my filebases locally, and export them to the mailboxes (with TIC file and added seenby line) for each downlink.

Now, I assume the downlink has to be subscribed in the file areas? And the Fido/FTN address selected.

Aside from that, and ensuring I have the mailbox created, should I have any other issues?

Do the downlinks have fileboxes setup for them? Filefix will work to let them handle what they are subscribed to (and it automatic with netmail). There is also a hatch section to mutil designed to work under hatch.ini, you'll see
    that in Events.

While a placeholder event is now created I'm not seeing any hatch.ini in the Mystic directory nor changes to mutil.ini at this point. That said, I imagine that could well change with respect to the latter ;)

Sounds good so far... and the TIC's and files are being imported in to your file bases - correct? If yes, then all good.

So, then I run the TIC switch of mutil and it, in theory, should push all TICS to my filebases locally, and export them to the mailboxes (with TIC file and added seenby line) for each downlink.

Fileboxes... not mail boxes, and make sure they are created for each echonode and that you have set a TIC password for each echonode and have the fileboxes set to yes or hold ... if it's hold they will have tic's and files placed in their filebox but it won't be sent to them when you fidopoll them, instead
they will need to poll you to collect them

Check you have the 'downlink' set as an 'export to' echonode. Also ensure the Zone of the filebase matches the zone of the attached echonode.

Set your mutil logging to level 3 to catch any other issues.

    Best, Paul

I noticed it as a semaphore in the Events table on A35 from G00r00. Not sure
if it's active yet, I thought it might be, but haven't checked the Whatsnew.
It may be a future thing in the works.
