I've noticed path problems with A35, I mentioned that before, but with the Pi I'm getting a really weird result with the bbslist.bbi and Gryphon's blam.
The nodelist version I have works normally, the original bbslist.bbi in data comes up when I quit the menu. Not when I hit B which should bring it up, but when I quit the menu it pops up. Exit it and I'm back to main menu. It's very odd.
I've also found mis2 telnet works, mis telnet no longer does (correctly).

There has literally been no change to the code in the telnet servers in a
long long time in MIS.

I suspect a lot of the problems you have seem to be centered around user error.
