• Mystic IPV6 and Binkp

From Malthous@21:1/189 to All on Wednesday, September 06, 2017 23:29:44
Looking for some clarification. I want to get things setup to use ipv6. I allready have ipv6 enabled and all setup and working. My question is how
would I get binkp to work over ipv6? It was posted a while ago that fidopoll does not support ipv6. When a new message is posted in an echo it creates a semaphore file and then fidopoll executes via an event to send the message to the hub. Is there a way to send messages without doing it this way so i can get things to work with ipv6? I know i'm missing something somewhere just
cant put my finger on it.

For BINKP server you need to use MIS2 which is being developed this version
to replace the old MIS. Only MIS2 supports IPV6.

You are right about FIDOPOLL not calling outbound via IPV6 because it is
built off of the MIS codebase that does not support IPV6.

The plans are to get MIS2 BINKP server working well, which it seems to be as of the A35 release today, and then release the FIDOPOLL version with IPV6.

Long story short, a new FIDOPOLL will come sooner before later now that BINKP is good on MIS2.

I'm using mis2 for everything, both telnet and binkp and they work great, still have mis running for events only. Both are configured to use IPv4 and IPv6.

So if i understand you I wont be able to connect to the HUB over v6 until the new fidopoll is released? If so I anxiously await its release. Keep up the good work.

Yes, unfortunately that is the case. I was actually hoping to work on it
this weekend, but as it turns out I have to work now.
