I'm in search of old ms dos based BBS with door games already present.

So far I have a few versions of majorbbs and I'm doing great with that one. I'm not above cracked doors, this is for my personal use and will never be directly accessible from anywhere outside my network.

So to sum things up. Im looking to leech a pre setup bbs system and make it into a bootable virtual image to use privately with me myself and I.

This would be really fun for me and if your able to help then maybe I could return the favor by handing you back a Virtual version of your bbs if it
wasn't already made into one.

I've been playing with the MajorBBS installs present on http://major.butt.care/index.php/Main_Page

As far as I know, it's no longer possible to buy a license for it, so I
say compile the source code and go to town sir. I actually tried to reach
out to the dude who claims to own the IP for MajorBBS, to see about
purchasing a license, and never got a response. So do whatchalike =)

The mbbs4ever setup works great in a WinXP virtual machine. There are
some other options for running an install in a DOS virtual machine, but it seemed to run a tad slower for me. Not a deal breaker and closer to original
I suppose, but the XP option seemed to work great.

I'd love to know if anyone has had any luck getting fido messages tossed into MajorBBS.

I'm using the 6.25 msdos versions of majorbbs under qemu headless and they
fly, even on a arm processor chromebook running ubuntu in a chroot. Headless was the key to getting that kind of speed on such a slow processsor. I hope
I can find some other dos based bbs's that also can be run headless.

Some of you might even have your super old copies of mystic for dos with door games floating around. I'd be very interested in those as long as the games are all present and operational.
