• QWK issue - update

From Vk3jed@21:1/109 to All on Sunday, September 11, 2016 18:55:00
Just reproduced the truncated long name@FTN address netmail issue with Synchronet. The issue is definitely on the reader side. What I am not able to determine is whether this is a limitation in Multimail or QWK in general. I don't have another QWKE reader on hand. Replying in Bluewave doesn't add the @FTN part.

In both Multimail and Bluewave, I can see the entire From: address string, it's when I reply that things get truncated.

Testing from here could get tricky, since I don't have an alternate QWKE capable offline reader to test with (any recommendations?).

That's a bummer. I don't have anything but MultiMail here. I used to think that Offline was a good reader but I don't have any kind of dos emulator going here to try it and I'm not sure if it is QWKE aware.

I'm not even sure what the URL's are I've got going here but I have a copy of that and several other QWK readers in my Comm/Terminal file area.

I threw together a DOSBox for Bluewave. I could try Offline or other readers in it, though I really need to get hold of the sharing aware DOSBox that was mentioned about a week ago.

I'll have to check your board out at some stage. :)

I did have dosemu working but pkzip/pkunzip was crashing it. It seemed to work OK as long as those two didn't come into it. Now it's not working at all. A puzzle I need to figure out.

You are welcome at any time.. :)

I think that file is in ftp://trmb.ca/MAIN/COMM/OFFLI158.ZIP.

That's what it looks like in my plain old ftp.. I don't know if it is case sensitive.

Weird. There's always DOSBox or Qemu. Pkzip/unzip seem to work fine in my DOSBox. :)

    Probably is on Linux. :)
