From Black Panther@21:1/186 to All on Sunday, January 29, 2017 16:07:00
    Hi All,

    I've got another Mystic question.

When processing incoming .tic files, that include the 'replace' line, I'm getting the files put into the bad file directory as dupes. Here's a snippet
    of the log file:

    + Jan 29 15:36:48 Tossing PX729103.TIC
    + Jan 29 15:36:48 File AGORANET.ZIP Area INFOPACK From 1:2320/100
    - Jan 29 15:36:48 Replace "AGORANET.ZIP"
! Jan 29 15:36:48 Bad file: dupe; Moved to c:\bbs\mystic\files\badfiles\

If the replace line is included, shouldn't it replace the existing file
    without considering it a dupe?

    Thanks,

It depends on the mystic -cfg File Base setting, options set for Scan for Dupes Current ALL or None are your choices (: Mine is set to Current and the TIC replaces command line works over here.

As Pequito has mentioned, it comes down to the dupe settings in your overall file base management. I have mine set to 'current' instead of 'all'

That would solve your problem. In the case above I suspect you have this file in another base somewhere on your BBS, as such it's being flagged as a dupe.

I'm not seeing an option in mystic -cfg file base for dupe checking. The only place I've found it is in the .ini file I use for mutil. I have the line "allow_replace = true".

Thanks Paul. I didn't even think to look in the file base settings. I was looking in the individual file areas settings, and couldn't find it.

I changed it to current, and I'll keep an eye on it.

Please don't smack your head to hard, if your any where close to my age.. You can't afford any more possible Brain cell damage like me. I know... I'm still trying to get some door games working on here. I think I found an interesting way of accomplishing it too...

I've set up a RLogon menu command from my door games menu, which connects to Mystic running on my Ubuntu system. I have it connect the user directly to
the doors menu on there, where it runs the DOS games via DOSEmu. The only
thing I don't like about it, is the user has to create another login to get into the Ubuntu system... I'm also not sure yet, how I would get game packets sent for IBBS gaming setups... I'll figure it out... :)

I kinda strange, as back in the 90's I felt like I was very well versed in
just about everything BBS related. I figured it would be no problem to step back into that with today's technology. I had no idea how many headaches I would encounter trying to run modern systems, with 20 year old programs.

Being a novice writer, perhaps I should start writing some of this down. It would be a good story for the grandkids, if I ever get any... :)
