Well I don't have anything to compare it to so as long as it works its fine by me. I'm trying out running my system under mint since my windows box can't seem to go a day without blue screening and causing a ruckus. Everything
seems to be working other than all the dos games of course.

I also can't seem to get bbslink to work, I've tried both the .sh script and the python script, neither works. The python script seems to do nothing, the .sh script returns:

    /bin/sh: 1: bbslink.sh: not found

I've tried putting the full path (/mystic/bbslink.sh), taking off the .sh extension, moving it to the /scripts directory, seems like it can't find it. I'm running it as a DD external program. I did make the bbslink.sh file executable.

As for the python script, where is the script supposed to go? I've got bbslink.py in the mystic directory and in the /scripts directory. Is it supposed to be .py or .mpy, as the testpython script is a .mpy?

So are you using DD /mystic/bbclink.sh
and that's not working? The permissions are important, the .sh isn't at all. Basically what g00r00 is doing with DD is '/bin/sh -c /mystic/bbclink.sh' for the above. So DD is equal to '/bin/sh -c ' followed by the data line.

Sounds like a permissions issue with the bbslink.py file, the file itself can be anywhere but if you have it in the main mystic folder just do this.

    DD
    ./bbslink.py

no need to path it out if its right in the root mystic install. But def
    check the permissions.

Will get with you on the other items aka dosemu.

That pends on the linux distro, that text is mostly for ubuntu distro's and will not work with others like Debian which is what I use. I had to figure
out an alternate method for getting it to work correctly. =)

CentOS is a pretty stable distro used by even companies as servers, glad to know its still easy enough for others to use. =)

    Hey all,

I've got dosemu installed, I followed the instructions in the
unix.install.txt file. When I execute a door, this comes up on the screen:

mkdir: cannot create directory ‘/root’: Permission denied
    can't create local /root/.dosemu directory
    can't create local /root/.dosemu/run directory
    can't open "/root/.dosemu/boot.log" for writing

Seems to be trying to run as root. It runs fine when I run it manually from the terminal.

In mystic the command type is DD and the command is:
    dosemu -I"serial { com 1 virtual }" "/mystic/doors/bjack.bat" %3 /DOS

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I went through this for the Rasberry Pi and it seems to work fairly
good. Got about half of my doors working but I'm having some troube with some like Trade Wars and The Pit. Think I have to get a fossil to work. Not sure if it will help but I thought I'd share it!

I tried to reply to this a while back but didn't have my routing set up correctly so it never left my BBS. I've been working on this a lot over the past week or so. I ended up creating a MS-DOS image instead of FreeDOS and it seems to be a bit more stable. Also ended up putting my doors on the image (C Drive) instead of trying to access them on the shared drive because my BRE files kept getting corrupt on the shared drive. Still haven't had any luck
with Trade Wars or The pit but I haven't fond a Fossil driver yet.
