    Hello, I have a question..

The .bsy file that is placed in the semaphore directory...

Is there anything in that file and what is it's primary purpose?

Nothing in the file, just a place holder to show that an app is running so if there is a mis.bsy or mis2.bsy or fidopoll.bsy its just stating that the app itself is running. It was a check that g00r00 added so the app would not run again if already running basically.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers!

The file contains the PID of the process that created it. The primary purpose is to tell Mystic that something is in progress, so 2 conflicting processes aren't running at the same time. It's a safety feature.

Yep taglines are an important feature. :D

Actually, it does contain the PID (Process ID) of the process that created it. That's potentially useful, if you want to write a clever script that checks to see is a semaphore is actually active or stale. I discovered the PID when checking to make sure I had the right information to answer this question. :)

so if there is a mis.bsy or mis2.bsy or fidopoll.bsy its just stating
that the app itself is running. It was a check that g00r00 added so
the app would not run again if already running basically.

Yep, that's the basic idea. Having the PID is a bonus. :)

OK! That's what I was thinking..
