• Prealphas for all OSes

From g00r00@21:1/108 to All on Saturday, February 23, 2019 02:39:33
I've updated prealphas for all versions, Windows, Linux, Pi and Mac.

This version should fix the rescan null reported earlier today and I am not really sure what else since the last build.

The reason I compiled for all operating systems is because I wanted to
release it as A43 so I could go crazy with big changes, but since I am making this echomail change last minute I didn't want to just release it as a full alpha.

I tested out A43 for the pi and it gave me some really weird behavior. Right before loading Interbbs oneliners during prelogin the error I got:

sys:1: RuntimeWarning: Python C API version mismatch for module __mysticerror__: This Python has API version 1013, module __mysticerror__ has version 1993802741.

sys:1: RuntimeWarning: Python C API version mismatch for module mystic_bbs: This Python has API version 1013, module mystic_bbs has version 1993802741.

It still ran the oneliners as it should.

However, running it right from the main menu didn't spit out this error.

Then when opening the new test message indexer it immediately popped up
asking if I wanted to remove subscriptions. When I opened your message and escaped back out it popped up again asking if I wanted to unsubscribe to
    g00r00 message base. :/

All the headers for the nets I'm connected to had disappeared and upon scrolling through the bases they would all blend together and sometimes
double up. Almost like the screen wasn't redrawing properly.

I changed the menu to load the old indexer and everything appeared and
    worked as it should.

I dropped back to A42 and everything is working normal again.

Let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

Follow the upgrade instructions in upgrade.txt. You need to copy userchat*
and msg_index* from a fresh install's TEXT directory to yours.

Ahhh, okay. The update.txt only said to copy over userchat not msg_index so once I copied everything over it's working fine again on A43.

Also looked into that error message I got which has to do with Gryphon's InterBBS oneliners. When it's ran during prelogin it spits out that error,
but running it elsewhere it's fine. So to hell with it, I won't run it during prelogin :)

    Thanks!

Ahh that would explain it, sorry about that :) I guess I only put it into
the WHATSNEW because its not technically finished yet and I still could make changes.

I will set up some Python scripts to run during login on my Linux BBS and see if I can reproduce it. It might be something specific to the default install on the Pi. At least with Ubuntu on Intel, Python needs to be recompiled to work 100% properly.
