    Hello Phoobar,

Have heard of them & know several around here use them. That price
isn't bad...but do they put data caps on the account? Remember in the
past how people would find hosting services...but after a set amount
of data...they ended up paying out the nose.

I have my system at home now but have used linode.com in the past. I had a nanode there that cost $5 a month and 1TB transfer was included. Every month I used 1 or 2% so as long as you can live within that there'll be no extra costs.

Amazon has similar services as well but I haven't used them. Their prices are similar. At linode it's all linux based, at Amazon you can get Windows based servers for a few $$ more. Look up AWS if Amazon interests you.

    Ttyl :-),

That's not bad at all! Think I was hearing stories of folks running warez & such servers & having their feed cut other than the web page to get there.

Will take a look at it to see what may work for the future.

Re: Linode. If you go to https://linode.com/thetalkshow you get a $20 credit which is four months of running their basic VM. Then it's $5 per month.

(note: not my promo link - I heard it on a podcast the other day)

That's a good offer for someone who wants to try it out free for 4 months before deciding if that's the way to go.
