Hope things slow down and dry up for your area. Having weather damage and no way to get in to fix them is scary.

Did the wife make it home safe?

    Yep, and thanks :)

Did the wife make it home safe?

She is still to fly, leaves 4pm tonight and lands around 7pm, it's coming up 10.30am local Sunday morning here as I type. Hopefully she will be fine,
worse case is lots of delays :)

It's been less wet here than further north, some surface flooding but nothing too bad. 3 hours up the road it's a total mess.

Yep she made it back OK but the weather was bad and I was glad to see her
home in one piece. She said the first flight she was one coming down country the passengers were screaming at one point with the violent turbulence... fun times indeed :)

Well after yesterdays smoke filled, throat choking day at a fairly ¨uncomfortable temp, while not great in the bushfire areas, I've got a nice ¨onshore breeze happening at the moment, keeping temps down a bit and shifting ¨that smoke. If it keeps up like this, the smoke will probably disappear some ¨time this arvo I'd expect by the way it seems to be thinning. Without the ¨smoke its far nicer to get the windows open and let the breeze in.

Maybe it'll help back burn and aid in putting out some of these fires. I have read, that many of these are arson lit. There's crazy people everywhere.

I hope things get better for you soon, the pictures we see on the nightly

Yes there certainly are and we have our fair share. A lot of them tend to be ¨lightning strikes.. we've been getting dry lightning.

I saw there was some rain. You have a large continent, so do not know exactly where, but I hope it has some reflief for you guys.

Theres some consternation as to whether its been good or not. To my mind ¨we've been in drought so long any rain is good. It hasn't been enough to put ¨any fires out, although it appears to have slowed things down. Rather than ¨saying its stinking hot to work in, there's some worry about a lot of the ¨ground being treacherous underfoot now its wet and slippery.

Doesn't seem to be slowing the smoke down much. The drive out to Sovereign ¨Hill, Ballarat takes you through some smoke drift territory, and whats ¨falling out of the sky out there, isn't so much water as light mud... We were ¨busy cruising down the freeway, and there was no change the apparent amount ¨of clous cover, (except it was smoke not cloud) suddenly it got a lot darker, ¨and I commented on it to the missus... a few minutes later its like driving ¨with this slushy mud on your windscreen... just drifting out of the sky...
