I'm on my personal laptop, have an Out of office message set on my work
email, and they're encouraging people to take notes at the conference.
It'll be nice to single-task for 3 days.

I've been noticing people doing that for a while now, and it's something that bugs me. I don't know why people seem to think that's okay. And even years ago (around 2004), I remember occasionally eating in local fast food places and occasionally ther would be someone with a walkie talkie beeping, with audible conversations going on (basically using the walkie talkie on speakerphone).

Ugh. Yes. This kills me. It seemed like not all that long ago, it was super rude and embarrassing just to have a regular phone conversation in the elevator. The full-speaker conversation, to me, is weird anyway. You already have the phone in your hand
and you're talking in it - why not just put it to your ear instead?

I will be in Sacramento for a 6 hour wait for my flight in March. I will likely be watching movies or visiting bbses on my ipad at a resturant just to pass the time.

When I notice people watching videos, it is usually a kid who has their
parents phone. I figure they gave it to them to keep them from fussing,
which could be worse than listening to whatever they are watching. ;)

noise cancelling, and they're $30-$40 bucks. They don't connect to two
devices simultaneously, but as soon as I turned Bluetooth off of my
phone they paired to my laptop without a lot of fuss. Nice sound, too.

Nice thanks! I'll have a look at the local "everything" store and see
what they have. I cancelled my amazon account over their union busting

a new iPhone...) as there's virtually no way to get out of homelessness
without one these days - and there are programs where you can get a
