I was able to hobble into the house without getting blood on the floor, wash it thoroughly with soap and water, and smothered it with antibacterial
cream.

A day later, it doesn't look infected, but hurts like hell. I just came back from getting a tetanus booster, so my left foot and right arm hurt.

Ouch indeed, you poor chap. I had something similar once and it involved a rainy afternoon, gumboots and a nail. I empathize totally with you on this one.

Then people laught at me because I use armored boots with steel reinforcements designed to prevent your foot from being nailed.

It's a sandal, has a hole in the sole but otherwise it survived just fine.
