Well, the leves are falling off the tress, the tempeture is dropping steadily, and cider and cider donughts are in fashion. (So is Pumpkin Spice, but I am not a fan..)
I wish summer could have stuck around a little longer, but I don't think there is a way to change the gravitational constant of the universe and slow down the orbit of the Earth.
But I do love this time of year. I used to spend a lot more time on my Commodore 64 back in the day calling up BBSes and playing Space Empire
and a bunch of others.
While I am not looking forward to snow falling, I do like the time of year. What about the rest of you? Anything about this time of year you like?

I do have dreams of one day becoming a "snow bird" as we call them
here, where one will go live in the warmer US states for the winter and then fly home for the summer.

I'm looking forward to cleaning the BBQ and starting to enjoy summer
soon, but here it's still spring and the weather and temps are super changeable still :(
We're moving into fall, I hope I have one more year left in my cheapo propane BBQ. We're about to do a kitchen remodel and I'm going to need
it for the next 2 months!
My wife is keen to do a kitchen remodel but I think it will be another[...]
daydreams :)
It's nice to see her smile :)
It's nice to see her smile :)You have a wife that smiles? &-)

Lucky bugger!
I'm well over it, as it was 5 years ago... And even better she moved
back to Melbourne, so no chance of running into her.

I traded my wife in for a 1987 Z28 Camero loaded... was the best trade
I ever made. On a cold winter morning the Camero never gave me a
difficult time rolling over <G>
to Melbourne, so no chance of running into her.
I'm sure she's lowered the tone of the whole place...
Lucky bugger!
Thanks, yes I feel fortunate but it takes work on both sides to keep
it that way. I think we can talk openly to each other when it counts
and that has been a key thing over the years. Neither of us is perfect
but we work well as a team.

That's good then... yep no fun bumping into exes.. been there
That's great. Does she have a sister that's like that? &-)

But at least it provides other pleasures. @-)

Hahah.. no just two brothers, older... I don't think they would be
your type :)

On the road I wasn't looking for that, but had a gal pal inside
that was <G>

That it did and was very faithful <BG> Had my fun with it for many
years.
My ex moved 70 miles away to a coastal town where she had family. A
couple of years later I moved with my new wife and daughter to be closer
to my son from the previous marriage. No fun is having your current wife
go to the grocery store and get her groceries rung up by your ex-wife.
No fun for the ex, I think my wife was amused.

That's the annoyance with cars. when they work good they are great, but then when they are having issues.... arghhhh....
I joked with the mechanic the last time my car was in, that there's
more new/replaced parts that cost more then the whole car combined!
Hope you got to get a cuddle! @-)That was never an issue.

Absolutely! Car issues can be so frustrating - and expensive!

That's why they like to strip cars down, they're worth more as good
used parts than whole.

Yes, one thing get's fixed, and then another thing gets busted....
Yes, and mine is like that.. Had some major issues, and it's had many things replaced, included the motor. It is after all a 2009 vintage and done just short of 185 thousand km's.

Engine replacement is usually a major red flag. I had one car years
ago to which the engine blew. It was a manufacturer defect that the original owner failed to have fixed. I replaced the engine and sold it asap. My current car is 2002 with just over 195K miles on it and rides very smoothly still.

Refer to my comment above. LOL

The issues with mine all started when the radiator water bottle
cracked. Over time the issues started to mount up and get fixed. But unknown to us was the small water leak getting into cylinder four and
in the end seizing up.
With the heat issues it was better to replace the engine, than try to
fix issues at the time. That also means any future issues would be avoided.

I'm glad at least one of them moved to Georgia, so the chances of that happening again is next to zero.

Of course it also depends on the make/model of your vehicle. My sister
has 2 Ford Tauruses... they're both constantly breaking down and with
the same thing over and over... yet my 2002 Lexus just keeps on going.
Oil changes when needed and other required maintenance things such as tires and I'm a happy camper.
N1uro wrote to Vorlon <=-
I can see where that would have triggered a major chain reaction! Water
in a cylinder means rust, which means ring damage, and so on. Sometimes you can get away with a good repair like that, but it's not that often from what I've seen.

Toyota/Lexus with that 6 cylinder engine, reliable as all hell.
I had a 2002 Camry SE with the 6 cylinder, did the timing belt every
90K, oil, brakes and tires - and that was it for over 15 years. Sold it with 200K on it, drove well.

I saw a video on YouTube where a couple of guys restored a Dodge "slant six" engine that had been sitting in a junk yard. Lots of water in the cylinders, but the process was entertaining and made me yearn for
having a simple car with no electronics.
In the end they had to swap the block with another junker, but were
able to take everything else and make a running engine out of it.
