That is the one that jumped out at me first, but I remember listening to it before 1984. I think it came out in 1981 or '82 in the US, which is when I would have been in Jr High (vs. High School in '84).

Remembered when they started hitting it big. Quite a change how they
used to be. Saw a 60 Minutes interview with the band & will never
forget Jon said they were a hair band which created an ozone hole over

LOL, there were some girls at my high school who put a similar hole into

Hawk and Trowel are both plasterers tools... the trowel you're familiar with, the hawk is a largish square plate with a peg like handle used for carrying mixed material for use with the trowel. It implies a large job, lots of material.

The other one I like for your previous analogy is using body filler, nominally an automotive job but fits well with a lot of filler on a face. :)

My father in law loves this song. For some reason my mother in law
didn't thing it was so funny...

Used to listen to Dr. Demento when I was growing up & even tried to get him
to play on the radio stations I worked at. This & "Shaving Cream" were some
of the staples of the show.

The 1 thing I couldn't believe is how many covers there are on You Tube. In terms of your mother-in-law...find many women don't like it...even back in
the day...but it was #1 back in 1963.

Along with this...you can find videos which give you samples of the top music from whatever year. Looked at 1967 & my jaw dropped on some of the songs &
some of the artists. This coming from a guy who was in commercial radio off/on for about 20 years.

You are correct...from 1992-1994. She then married a clothing designer from 1996-1998...but nothing since that time.

    Answer: b

I never really paid attention to the lyrics. But I see that is based on
poor knowledge of the gospel. Thus, the meaning can remain entertainingly ambiguous for the uninitiated. It succeeds as a good song about doubt.
    It's a good tune, musically.

I believe you are correct. It was a hit about the same time that the first Traveling Wilburys album was out. IIRC, one of those videos included an
empty chair for Roy because he had passed between the time that "Handle

    3. The Dark Side Of The Moon

I believe the correct question is which album stayed on the charts for 25 years. I do not believe it was #1 for all of those years.

    None of them.

The Dark Side of The Moon did indeed spend 741 weeks on the Billboard album chart (1973 - 1988) but only one week as number one. It is also the highest selling album never to reach number one in the english charts.

I had no idea, so I Googled it. The performances that year were:

    Madonna - "Express Yourself"
Bobby Brown - "On Our Own"
Def Leppard - "Tear It Down"
    Tone-Loc - "Wild Thing"
    The Cult - "Fire Woman"
Paula Abdul - Medley: "Straight Up"/"Cold Hearted"/"Forever Your Girl"
Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora - "Livin' on a Prayer"/"Wanted Dead or Alive"
The Cure - "Just Like Heaven"
Cher - "If I Could Turn Back Time"
The Rolling Stones - "Mixed Emotions"
Axl Rose & Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - "Free Fallin'"/"Heartbreak Hotel"

So based on those choices, I'd answer:

    c. Bon Jovi

Though Nirvana's 1994 MTV Unplugged in New York is an awesome CD and was totally my soundtrack for Grade 9 & 10. It spent a lot of time in my Panasonic Shockwave portable CD player (I had the square shaped grey one with clips on the sides), along with CD's from The Cranberries, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, a little bit of Offspring and Ace of Base for something different.

All of this with my mushroom cut & grunge style shirts. Gawd, I was so cool back then... ;)

Some of my Grandaughters were on a kick with that song for a while.

But I did see a Youtube video where a guy installed a customized horn in his wife's car with that song programmed in it without her knowledge.

Personally I consider that grounds for justifiable homicide.

I live in a neighborhood where the houses are way too close to each other.
Last summer someone had a party and kept playing Kid Rock's "Only God Knows Why." (What a terrible party that must have been!)

That song was stuck in my head for probably months. The thing that seems to have helped me in that situation is to use a "go-to" song. Whenever I start to recall the horrible Kid Rock song, I catch myself as quickly as possible and shift my brain into "Holy Wars" by Megadeth.

That usually works for me as well, either that or listen to the song that's stuck in my head. But there was no way in hell I was going to willingly listen to Baby Shark...

This song has been stuck in my head the past couple of days, it's slightly more tolerable:

    Gigi D'Agostino - I'll Fly With You (1999) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEkMw7wz_eA

Reminds me of my younger club days when I had spiked hair with frosted tips... Gawd, I was so cool back then... ;)

My daughter had friends over last week for a birthday party. They are all teens. They were playing with our Alexa getting it to play tunes off Spotify.
I decided to Rick Roll them and used my Spotify account to override their selections from time to time... it was so funny as they couldn't figure out
why some songs play and why Rick Astley would play from time to time.

Who was "Addicted to Love" in a number one song on May 3, 1986?

    b. Robert Palmer

Although I know who wrote that song, the question seems confusing - It sounds like it's asking who the song is about, not who wrote the song. The lyrics are in second-person ("might as well face it, you're addicted to love").

I think it was pretty clear as just a clever wording of the question. But if you take an overly literal read, then I guess the answer is "You. You are addicted to love."
