I have a chromebook that i wiped chromoOS of and installed Debian 11 on...

the only thing i miss from chromeOS is you could use various key combos to
use keys you don't have; pgup, pgdn, end, home, delete, etc.

Anyone else doing this have a fix to get that functionality back?

I'll be doing that shortly on this one. This chromebook has reached
end of life and will no longer get updates. (I'm using crouton right
    now for multimail)

Under crouton I just went into the keyboard settings and added the combo's
    to get those functions.

Usually, pressing one of the meta keys along with the arrow keys would do
the trick. I have an X131e running Ubuntu that I'll have to try that on.

What did you use to get Debian on it? I used SeaBIOS on my X131e when Google stopped supporting it.

I am thinking you should be able to map keys. Don't remember how though. It's been about 20 years since I ran Debian, really any linux, full time other than on headless Raspberry Pi's.

Don't want to derail your thread but how hard was it to throw Debian on the chromebook? I have a perfectly good Asus that's at least a year beyond Chromebook updates I've been trying to figure out what to do with.

Correct. I had to remap the keys using the keyboard remapping options under ubuntu. Has nothing to do with chromos.... That's why I suggested it.

I too will be removing chromeos in the next few weeks as this model has been end of lifed.

Don't connect to wifi when installing. Let it install what it has then
update afterwards. Otherwise the installer downloads some ubuntu upgrade
    that breaks on chromebooks.
