No official A47 release yet, but the pre-alpha seems to be pretty stable.

There may be a full release sometime this month, but subject to change.

No, but perhaps soon? not sure.

There's pre-alpha stuff going on (A47) and you can find a link to that build
    on the wiki.

A47 is still in prealpha but I believe there will be a release very soon (someone mentioned a couple of weeks). The prealpha works fine, though.

    Best regards

    Charset is correct:

    CHRS: UTF-8 4

and all characters come through correctly:

More of an OpenXP problem. (Not sure if extended characters are allowed in the subject though).

When I use an apostrophe, it translates weirdly for some reason.

The typesetter apostrophe ’ you use is encoded in three bytes in UTF-8 (hex: E2 80 99, decimal: 226 128 153). If another mail reader cannot decode UTF-8 and decodes it as CP437 (IBM437, MS-DOS US charset) you get three characters

    E2: Γ
    80: Ç
    99: Ö

Alternatively you can use the typewriter apostrophe ' which is the same ASCII character in all charsets.

interesting, thanks for the update on that. i have never done a mystic
upgrade before... i hope its not too risky... i do back up everything in the mystic dir so if something breaks i do have mulitpal backups. but i am still carefull.

    Thanks

I remember the upgrade from A45 to A46 being pretty easy, there really wasn't much to do depending on how much you customized your board. A47 may be a little more involved (again, depending on how much you customized your board) as there are changes to some prompts and added screens in the message editor.

But yes, make sure you have a backup in case everything goes south and you should be good.

Oh ok good to know. ya i have also created a BBS-Dev system too, in order to test a major change like that on the dev system - so i dont interrupt my PROD BBS. Some day i hope that my BBS is as glorius as everyone elses here. i know its a work in progress, and my board is not even a year old yet... but slowly and surely its making progress. :-)

Odd, while I fully concur its the weirdy UTF8 character, I don't get the characters you're showing for E2:80:99, can't tell you if they're differing hex values here... This is in DOS6.x but it might be what the tosser does with them too.

I guess we are stuck in a UTF-8 -> CP437 misinterpretation loop. I give you one UTF-8 char, you see two or three CP437 chars. I quote these chars UTF-8 encoded and so on ...

They don't appear correctly for me, even in your quote. But I think it has to do with a character translation issue with the reader I'm using (I'm actually using my own message reader I developed for Synchronet; I started working on a fix but it seems it's still not translating the characters properly).
