Until they take a bite and realise this cookies aint that good :)
Over here we call them biscuits :)
Language is funny like that. Here we commonly refer to them as cookies but we also have "dog biscuits" and "tea biscuits".
We commonly go out for "fish & chips" but they're otherwise refereed to
as french fries (or just fries). I'm sure there are many others, but
it's almost midnight...
We also have cat/dog biscuits (pet food) but have not heard of tea biscuits.

They're for Dunkers.... a person who dips his biscuit in his tea. ;)

Digestives, Rich Tea, Custard Cremes, Bourbons... all make for great dunking. Watch out for the Rich Tea's though, dunk for longer than about
3 seconds and you're likely to get soggy biscuit drop to the bottom as they disintegrate pretty quick.

Oh I hate when that happens! The worst is when you forget it's down
there andtake that last sip of your tea & freak out that there's chunks
at the bottom ofyour mug... :/
A tea biscuit is kind of like a savoury scone, often (but not always) has cheese baked into them. They're very light and flaky, best eaten warm
out of the oven.
It's a very simple recipe, usually just flour, salt, milk, butter &
baking powder (and shredded cheese if that's your thing, it's certainly
my thing).

I tend to think of Tea Biscuits more as a "Dry" sweet biscuit.. never heard orRich Tea or Bourbons before... Custard Creme and Digestives are borderline teabiscuit in my notebook. :)
Something like so...

Soggy biscuit is the name of a game university students here in New Zealand used to play.
I can't explain how the game works in polite company, and I also can't verify its truth because I never made it to university.
