Didn't I see this mentioned on an episode of Adrian's Digital Basement?
Or Maybe Jan Beta?
Is the cheaper FB Oculus model nice to use? Hmmmmm...
The only real downfall with the $299 (in the US, _really_ annoying to
pick up in Germany) Oculus Quest II is that it requires a Facebook
account and is, well, owned by Facebook.
My brother got them for my mother and me, so that we could play minigolf as a family. So we've been having a weekly family call that generally involves some amount of playing Walkabout Minigolf.
I'm interested in the C64 emulator, but haven't yet used Sidequest, and haven't played much with the C64, so don't know if there's any games I'd consider fun, since I don't really have nostalgia for any of it.
I do hope to eventually play around with programming some VR stuff, but I haven't explored the concept at all.
:P I hear you about the FB part - thats really a THING for me. Suck.
Just wanted to say, f yea bro! What a good gent. Pls tell big bro that Paulie420 would like to be an honorary Adeptian... I'll send you my address and show up every week for Walkabout.
Is Sidequest like... unsupported or like the 'fdroid' store for
Android... you know, is it without using Facebook?!
Appreciate your reply - it only makes me want to grab a set more... but I wonder if I should look beyond the FB option - which I think means more $$$.
It's just irritating that they feel the need to hook in as much Facebook as possible.
I want to get in... :P Good thing I'm wrapped up in this little PICO-8 world this weekend...
What're you doing with PICO-8?
I know I purchased something related to it back in 2017 when at a demo party, and occasionally I see some demo in it. It seems like an interesting platform, though I've barely played with it.
