• Working with stoneage games

    Hello!

I have not been posting a lot of updates, because I have been a bit busy.

If you have been to SciNet you may already know I have been testing the original Unix Rogue game on OpenBSD. In addition to
that, I have ported a game server, dgamelaunch, to OpenBSD in order to allow to host public games. The port is still a work in
progress, but so far it seems to be working. My version has a bunch of improvements over the original dgamelaunch, such as
properly salted passwords, and well, compiling on OpenBSD.

You can give my test instance a try at:

    ssh://dgamelaunch@operationalsecurity.es (password Yendor).

    The game controls are simple.

    Move with vim controls: hjkl

    Diagonal movement with y,u,n,m

    Check your inventory with i

Attack things by walking against them.

esc and space for skipping game messages.

    ? for in game help.

This is the reason why I have not been able to post much about my writing adventures :-)

The code is available from my CVS server. Yeah, you read right, CVS. Because nothing beats old school.

Too cool! Will have to check that out.
