Just an update on this. Tonight I've been working on revised scripting to automate the compilation of this pack, zipping it up, sending an updated copy to bbs.nz etc. and then hatching it to FSX_INFO and announcing this to FSX_FIL

Seems like it's working OK. But just check for me that things landed OK, replaced fine and when you inspect the contents of the .zip that it looks OK.

Most files in the infopack are now lower case as per the conventions I see being used in Linux systems. 1/100 that generates this zip is now running
Linux so I am trying to get into good habits :)

The nodelist files in the infopack are still uppercase but are the exception.
I could make them lowercase but I fear it may create work for some whose systems are case sensitive so I'll likely just leave this as it is.

So for you guys, there's really no change... for me it's been a bit of a learning curve to suss the things I needed to do and change on my new OS to
get the same results as the commands and tools I was using on my old windows box.

So a happy ending I guess for this wee bit of the puzzle.

I'm nearly done doing the same revised automation of nodelists, hatching and announcements but that will need to wait until tomorrow.

I'm planning some further changes to nodelists in that until now I have been generating the full nodelist each week and updates from NETs have been
added or removed by myself. The nodelist compiling tools do allow for
segments to be sent by NET admins so in the coming weeks I plan to tweak
things so that this starts to happen for NET admins that want to do this..
less single point dependency..
