Some of you might recall back in November my wife had surgery to have a
kidney removed due to cancer. Everything turned out well, and we're a couple
of weeks from the quarterly CT scans they ate scheduling to monitor.

Last night I get a message from my mom that she took my dad to the hospital because he's been having a lot of pain in his shoulder, and had felt
something pop that definitely wasn't right. The found a spot on his arm and
a lung, and were going to release him today and schedule a biopsy later in
    the week.

6:30 this morning I receive an update, They are now going to put a rid in his arm because they are afraid his arm might break and possibly do the biopsy today.

My dad just had his 72nd birthday a week ago. I've only known of 3 times before now that heps ever been in the hospital, or even sick. Once when he played high school football he broke his collar bone, he had a vasectemy
after my sister was born, and he had bladder cancer several years ago..

It's hard to even wrap my head around this right now.

Barmed, I'm so sorry. Going through something similar right now with my
father (stage 4 kidney failure) and my father-in-law (stage 4
esophegeal cancer). On top of that, I haven't seen either of them in over
a year. My father is the same age as yours.

I wish your wife, and your father a fast recovery. Hang in there.

Hey there... just sending you good vibes and thinking of you and your family
    at this time.

My folks are both 78 and my mum is not well so I can really appreciate how you're doing at the moment.

Just take it day at a time... it's good he's getting the medical care he
    needs.

Last night I heard frim my mother that the rid was inseted in his arm, but
the bone did break while he was in surgery, It will be a frw days before the biopsy results get back.

Meanwhile, my wife has an upcoming appointment for a CT scan to check that
the surgery she had in Novemmber was truly successful in removing the cancer.

And to top things off, my primary doctor at the VA left sometime last year,
so some annual follow ups for things such as monitoring scarring on my lungs has fallen by the wayside.
