My wife really wants one of these. She missed out on the preorders, so
was really excited to find out target had them coming on sale today. She
stayed up until midnight to order one, but they didn't come on line. Then
in the early hours this morning she bought one for her and one for her
    brother.

This afternoon we get an email that one of them has been refunded due to insufficent stock... we're hoping her one doesn't, but who knows.

The really sad part about these limited edition things, is I suspect the majority of people buying them do so to scalp on ebay. The Game and Watch
is going for over twice the retail price on ebay :(

Same thing with Xbox series X and Playstation 5 it really makes me mad.
Some people are just too greedy.

It's stupid because it manufacturers are purposely deciding not to build enough of the systems to keep the buzz high. If Apple can make millions of iPhones for release, then Sony can make millions of PS5's. They just choose not to.

Yea, these PS5's are all over FB and other markets for $1100, $900, $700... same crap, different year/different technology..

I remember my sister in the 80s, not getting a Cabbage Patch Doll for xmas morning because of people fighting in the stores.
(Someone in our family did bring sis a Cabbage Patch doll the day after so; happy ending.)

I hope your wife does get one of the items she paid for... I was going to pick up a halfway decent $450 walmart laptop, decent specs and $180 price drop... but same not in stock thing.

    shrug. ugh.

I tend to agree, though I wonder if they built more so that scalping them
was not profitable, then there would be left overs? I don't know.

It's sad though, after ebgames (aus version of gamestop) sold out of
preorders a little after midnight, you see people with several of them
selling on ebay. Same with target, there were 20 new game and watches on
ebay right after target sold out.

It was kind of cool with the Xbox Series X and PS5 launches seeing people
doing fake bids of like $100,000 just to screw around the scalpers.

Just wish there was some kind of law to prohibit that sort of thing like
there is for scalping tickets to events. (Well I think there is a law for
    that isn't there?)

    Ah bad luck.

I was very spoiled today, my wife bought me a new 27" monitor. I had been eyeing them off, as I have this new computer I built and a monitor I
picked up at St Vinnies for $12 (it is actually a decent monitor, so that
was a bargin) but now I have a nice big screen :D

She keeps checking her target order, it still says processing, so fingers crossed. I think if they were going to refund they would have done so by
    now, but who knows.

I am willing to buy the XBOX Series X after trading in the xbox one, but the system is sold out.

I did see the Game & Watch systems being reviewed on YouTube this week/end... they are pretty cool man! I remember having those TYPES of systems when I was a kid - both Tiger branded, AND Game & Watch (Or, whatever the 2020 Game and Watch style is ripping - but I think its the original brand...) ones.

We were poor, so aside from Nintendo systems I had to play the cheapos. There weren't tons of different brands gaming systems under my families roof! :P And even tho they sucked, with their paper backgrounds and black LCD(?) graphics, I loved those cruddy Tiger games. $15 or so, and would keep me happy for at least one road trip. Man, I wish I still had all of those little Tiger machines...

I did keep ONE Mattel Classic Football 2 - the green one, where the screen looks like a stadium; the angles anyway, and the graphics on that one are just a vector of 10x3 red LED lights. Beep boop...

I hope the wife has her Game & Watch in the bag!
