Anyway he's suggesting some positions for me to apply for, things like that. While we are talking, he asks if I have a service connected disability, which officially I haven't been classified with yet. He
then asked where I was stationed in the US. After telling him where I went for Basic Training, his reply is "You need to apply for service connected. That's one of the bases they shut down due to toxic chemicals."
Sorry to hear about that. My father is a Vietnam War Veteran. They told him that "agent orange" was "perfectly safe". Well, it is no state secret that it causes cancer, and my Dad ended up coming down with Non-Hodgkins Limphoama.
He had chemo and beat the cancer, but now he has permanent neuropathy due to damage from the chemo.
As you might imagine, I'm not very trusting of "government" or "the system"
and with the epidemic of modern incompetence, that seems to be a sentiment
that is catching on with many people like wild fire, and rightly so.
My Dad is always in constant pain and he is only able to do things for
roughly 4 hours a day before he is completely wiped out and needs to relax in bed. Well, as much as one can relax with the amount of pain he is in, at any rate.
