The Telegram<->Fidonet gate experiment might appeal to them.

But if they "love" FB, then reaching the Fidonet side with
Telegram could disappoint. It's probably better that they stay
on the FB or Telegram side of things.

The Telegram<->Fidonet project is looking for participants who
would like to keep in touch with fidonet echos from the
convenience of their smartphones or tablets. Unlike nntp or
live bbs/telnet messaging, Telegram is sync'd across your
devices.

Currently there are only a handful of echos available to join:

FIDO_UTIL

FIDO-REQ

These have been set up within the last month.

To participate, all the user has to do is install/register
Telegram on their devices. Then, it's just a matter of
requesting access from someone who is already a member of
those areas. For now, a request to join can be sent to my
Telegram ID: @aabolins

Once the person is added, that person can add other people.

All the rules that apply in the Fidonet echos apply on the
Telegram side. Real, full names are required in most echos.
