Last day of the weekend. :-(
Ah, but my favorite day of the weekend! Is anyone else watching "Lovecraft Country" on HBO?
Yes! Great show... Abnd I started "Raised by Wolves" on HBOMAX last
night. It's dark sci-fi, but looks interesting after EP1...
Holy Hell, that was intense.
Right??? Amazing episode. This is one of the few times I wish I hadn't read the book before seeing the show LOL.I've not read the book, so this is all new to me. Having read the book yourself, though, no spoilers but do you think that this is going to reach
On aother note, started watching "The Vow" docummentary on HBO lastThat one looks good, too, and it's on the list. We're trying to watch only
night as well. Great binger as well.

That is one that is of interest to me, but I am not subscribed to the service/pay channel it is being aired on. :(

However, knowing that you're interested, no spoilers.
Hi All
Sunday today, I'm sitting here having a beer and relaxing. Yesterday was setting up a new TV for my father in law, the TV was the easy part, the flatpack tv stand was a pain in the bum.
Anyway it all came together in the end. Today lots of washing of clothes was done, we've had rain all week, so it built up and we had tonnes of
it.
Thinking I'm going to have to set up Talisman on Windows 10 as it's looking like things are not working as they should there. Previously I just test if it works and I can log in, but most of my actual testing is just done with my linux based installs.
I've been neglecting BBSing a bit. Just been doing other things. Set up a minetest server which I've been playing on by myself. It's fun, I'm not sure if I'll open it up, I thought about making it for friends only, but
I don't think I have any friends who play minetest.
Also had been playing the lord of the rings online a bit, but over did it a bit, and haven't really felt like logging in the past week.
I don't know what it is, I'm guessing a game like Minecraft?
I've been more active this week and will probably do a bit over the
coming
week. Have been on holiday and have this week to go before heading
back to
work next week.
Yeah, very similar, except it's not so much built to be a complete game, rather an engine. There are several "games" people have made that run on it, and hundreds of mods.
My server has no monsters or animals, but lots of farming, trains,
technic stuff (like powerlines etc).
I find it relaxing building stuff - but not creative, so you have to get the matierials, just no monsters that destroy everything.
Cool. Sounds good. Maybe I'll get stuck into this Windows BBS tomorrow, I've been running happynet again, though it's been up and down a little with power outages / thunderstorms etc. So I'll set it up with that and see if I can figure out what's going on with Postie.
I sent another message, set up an XMPP server. A long time ago in my
first BBS internode chat was done over XMPP. I had an account for each node, a chatroom etc, and a sysop account friends with all the nodes, so
I could chat to nodes with me IM client.
Do you think you'll do any videos this week? :P
Yeah, very similar, except it's not so much built to be a complete game,
Just checking did you get the netmail reply I sent to you about a week
or so
Hmm.. Last one I got from you was a reply from a merry xmas / new year message..
is that the one?
I must not have replied sorry.
Yep that's it, it's all good I just wanted to make sure it made it
through :)
Cool. I'm pretty pleased that postie seems to be running pretty well on HappyLand v2.0.
That PR I did for HPT is still sitting there, I think they are just ignoring it... I couldn't convince them there is a bug, because sometimes it works (if you have carbon copies set up at all it will work, if not it fails) but whatever... people like to pretend they're infailable who am I to argue... lol

It's just not working correctly on windows / for other people (I think
on windows).

That's on my list for today as well. My least favorite thing to do in
the world.
Cleaning the bathroom is on the
bottom of the list.

I like to play Cities Skylines, from steam.
The only problem is when I play I zone out and suddenly 3 hours have passed.

My daughter went into the ER last night with gastrointestinal issues. She tested negative for Covid and we're waiting for some tests to come back to see what the next steps are.

Is XMPP still a thing? I set up Jabber servers for outsourced support teas at work years ago, and got them federated with Lync/Skype for business to talk to company teams without creating users on our internal network.
I have the ability to set up an XMPP server on my web host, I'd like to play with it again.
... Is this now?
Is it "blocky" like Minecraft?

It's the folding and hanging of the clothes you forgot.
Step 4, the step that is mind numbing boring..
..and when you have hands like mine it's also very
painful. Dishes are my favorite, all that warm water.

Minecraft's default world size is 30,000 by 256 by 30,000 "blocks".
Where as Minetest's default world size is ... if I remember it correctly, some where around 300,000 by around 30,000 by 300,000 "blocks". (So really you get a lot mor
space to build in) Though I only saw a glimps of the world size way back at least a few months.
I am not a minecraft nerd but it sounds to me that size does not make
a great difference there. You get playgrounds that are much bigger
than you will manage to explore
and use up in both cases.
Hey, I really enjoy Minecraft... and I used to play some of Minetest
myself.
So if you count me a friend... then you have at least 1. :D
Yeah way back when bugz helped me make a private Minecraft server...
and I think that's why I also like Minetest, especially the server
part.
Well, if you'd like to have a go at my minetest server (I'm not sure how well it will work...) I just opened up the port, but I have a whitelist, so if you want to let me know what username you will use I can add it, and then send you the server details.
It will be my nick... Beanzilla.
Ok, I whitelisted "Beanzilla" you *should* be able to log in now.
