DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Surigae was
located near Latitude 10.3 degrees North and Longitude
131.6 degrees East. Surigae is moving west-northwest at 10 mph.
It is expected to maintain this general course with a slight
increase in forward speed over the next 24 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 130 mph. Surigae is
forecast to intensify through Sunday.

Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to
50 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the
center up to 180 miles.
