    The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 316, 317
    continues.

    SUMMARY...Threat for mainly damaging wind and some hail will
    continue to evolve across southwest KS next couple hours.

    DISCUSSION...Cluster of storms continues along the southeast CO to
    southwest KS border. An isolated supercell was located over
    southwest KS just northeast of dodge city along a southwest-surging
    outflow boundary. The 00Z RAOB from DDC indicated modest instability
    with around 1200 J/kg MLCAPE and an inversion near 650 mb. While
    this thermodynamic environment is not particularly impressive,
    especially given a stabilizing boundary layer, some increase in the
    low-level jet has occurred with latest DDC VWP data showing around
    30 kt. Storms have been slow to evolve into an organized MCS, but
    numerous mergers are occurring, and consolidated cold pools along
    with the strengthening southerly low-level jet beneath northwest
    flow aloft will continue to support forward propagation into
    southwest KS next few hours. A swath of strong to damaging wind
    gusts remains possible, through overall threat does not appear as
    robust as earlier expected.
