Areas affected...Portions of northeastern NE and southeastern SD
Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 273...
Valid 130233Z - 130300Z
The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 273
continues.
SUMMARY...The severe threat will continue to diminish this evening,
and WW 273 will be allowed to expire as scheduled at 03Z.
DISCUSSION...Ongoing convection across remaining valid portions of
WW 273 is generally displaced to the north of a surface front. While
a very isolated strong/gusty wind threat cannot be completely ruled
out for the remainder of this evening, the increasingly elevated
nature of these thunderstorms suggest the overall severe risk has
diminished. These training cells suggest more of a flash flooding
threat. For more information on the potential for flash flooding,
see Mesoscale Precipitation Discussion 441 from the Weather
Prediction Center.
