Aldi's rebrands food products from elsewhere... UDD mentioned that
they'd done that with a product made down the road from him... so
possibly a US product despite ALDI being (I think) a Dutch chain...
FWIW: they most all do that... it is one reason why we tend to get
store brands most of the time... of course, if they're not as good as
what we like, we spend the extra few cents but we generally try the
store brand at least once...
ALDI ain't a Dutchy ... it's German (Essen, Germany). Essen, BTW, is
German for "eat". The name is a shortening of the original appelation "ALDI-short for ALbrecht-DIskont" Which makes sense - the Albrect
brothers and their families own the whole shebang. They split into two
(ALDI Nord and ALDI Sud) over a dispute about selling cigarettes. ALDI
Sud - the stores we see in Amerika does not sell tobacco AFAIK. The only presence here of ALDI Nord is via their Trader Joe's stores which were
bought in 1979.
Now they're going all main-stream on us .... to wit: Aldi began testing grocery delivery in 2017 in select cities such as Atlanta, Georgia and Chicago, Illinois. Grocery delivery is expected to be available nation-
wide by Thanksgiving 2018.

Title: Dirty Dave's Old Fashion Chicken & Noodles
Categories: Poultry, Pasta, Vegetables, Herbs
Yield: 5 Servings
500 g (17.6 oz) Swabian Spaetzle *
28 oz (2 cans) chicken broth
2 Chicken leg quarters; cooked
- meat removed from bone and
- shredded
1/8 ts Ground sage
1 ts Celery seed
1/4 ts (to 1/2 ts) "Italian" herb
- seasoning
10 3/4 oz Can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 c Left over chicken gravy
+=OR=+
12 oz Jar Heinz chicken gravy
* Deutsche Kuche found at ALDI. These are as good as I
can make from scratch on a good day. And not expensive.
In a large pan, bring chicken broth to a boil. Add the
noodles. Stir. Let it come back to a boil, turn down to
a medium heat, stirring often. While cooking add chicken
and spices. Cook noodles until tender, if they become
dry add small amount of water until noodles are tender.
Mix together chicken soup and gravy. Add to the noodle
mixture and stir continuously. When they are no longer
watery, remove from heat. The noodles will be thick,
creamy and chewy. Similar to dumplings.
Serves 4-6 with side dishes.
