succotash, lima beans and corn kernels

It's a southern dish but one that I encountered somewhere a long
time ago somehow, I like it. Sometimes I add extras to it such as
onions, bell pepper, chilies, stewed tomatoes, various herbs, diced
    ham or bacon bits.

I'm doing the weekend pre-cooking today for next week's fast suppers
and one of the dishes is black beans; so far there are just plain,
boiled with a little salt. I plan to serve at least one portion of
    them with corn.

The other two make ahead things are a pot of rice and muskox pot
    roast.

I did the muskox in my crockpot with dehydrated onion flakes,
"Better Than Bouillon" beef paste, black pepper, rosemary, tomato
juice and a little water and it turned out wonderful.

Fava beans are better known than limas in Europe...

Title: Lithuanian Fava Beans or Peas Served with Beer
    Categories: Lithuanian, Beans
    Yield: 12 servings

    1 l (4 cups) favas or peas
    1/2 c Caraway seed
    Salt to taste

Soak favas or peas for 12 hours, then cook in well salted water.
Water should cover legumes. When legumes are soft, drain, add
caraway seed, shake well so that caraway covers all the legumes.
Pour favas or peas into a bowl and serve along with beer.

I could see most of those... :) Probably not all at once, of
course.... (G) Stewed tomatoes would go ok, but then I wouldn't be
calling it succotash any more.... onions or peppers of any sort probably
would need to be chopped rather finely to not overpower, too... But ham
or bacon could turn it from a side to a main dish, if one added enough
    of it... :)

    Those go well together... :)

    Does sound good... :)
