Ah, but the point was that a half-gallon ice cream box is now only 3 pints; the pound coffee can holds less than a pound, even before opening... So you aren't even getting what you (thought you) paid
    for... ;0

Yep, and give them enough time a "baker's dozen"* will be 12 and a "dozen" will
be 11. Nice odd number...kind of like the packaging of hot dogs and hot dog buns that's so acceptable.

As it was I went to Freddies yesterday and bought the 38.4 ounce, 1.08kg, jug (Folgers Classic Roast). I promptly mostly filled the 10.4 ounce jug to take down to the Kenai. I'll probably have to freeze some of it this fall.

    * I was looking at Wikipedia about the baker's dozen and ran into this:
"The term has also been defined in a jocular way, as "twelve of today's and one
    of yesterday's."

I really am having trouble wrapping my head around that one... that
would be like a foot only having 10 inches.... ;0 And just as well I
don't care much for hot dogs or the traditional white bread buns.. but
the obvious solution is to either eat two of the 10 dogs sans bun (only
8 of them, after all)... or stuff 2 dogs in one bun a couple times... ;)

You are clearly well stocked on that now... ;) I used to keep some
coffee in the freezer for guests that HAD to have it... wasn't touched
in decades, and finally got tossed... I can't have it, and Richard gets
his when he's out and about.... no need for us to stock it... :)

That's an optimistic thought... ;) Seems to me that the baker's dozen
at some time referred to all day-old, rather than any fresh... ;)

About the only time I eat hot dogs now days is a quickie something to eat. Connie and I used to go eat at the Sams Club, a slice of cheese pizza for her, a Polish dog for me.

Take 4 hotdogs, heated in a pan, a can of chillllli in another pot. Mix over some corn chips in a bowl, add cheddar cheese. Makes 2 meals. I guess I could
go all goremet and add some diced onion...Now to figure out what to do with the
other 4 hotdogs...I guess that's where the suckie bagger comes into play.

As I explained to Dale a few days ago...it's that time of the year so I'll be relying on that type of meal. It's SUMMER! All the trees turned green a week ago last Wednesday. So I'm back to going down to Kasilof on a Monday or Tuesday, back to Anchorage on Thursday or Friday. Just got back about 3 hours ago, got the electricity on, fired off the well, no water leaks, propane is running, water heater is running, fridge/freezer is at temp, discovered I need a USB cable for the TV (?, I carry around a 2TB USB drive with avi files on it,
no TV to speak of down there). Got my Kindle for books, it's got Bluetooth so I can feed the stereo with it, that takes care of the music...what's not to like? Busy, busy...saw 6 cars yesterday, 2 people walking, 3 moose, more eagles than cars, a crane, swans, geese, and a pair of loons working the lake outside the window.

Probably.... although if you're likely to do a repeat within a week or
two, they'd likely just keep in a baggie in the fridge...
