One hopes you don't find yourself in that
    situation.
I hate to say it, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Tou might consider talking with a good pain doctor or at
least a pastor or other spiritual advisor type first.

One thing this macabre discussion doesn't take
into account is that people with pets most likely
will care about them and their fate and make some
kind of plan - and also that people with pets most
likely don't get to that level of despondency in
the first place (that being a lot of what pets are
    good for).
That's the general idea. People find a way to take care of those
    dependent on them.

    As they can.

Speaking of which, did you see that some guy was
prosecuted for leaving behind a pet fish when he was
evicted from his apartment? The case was dropped,
    ...
Wow, was that April 1 or what?
I missed that one. Just as well. It was a nasty thing to do to a
    fish of course.

There are all sorts of nasty things one can do to fish.

Eh, he's not a liar, and if he said something happened,
    chances are it did.
    The question is what?
Something that corresponds in his head largely
    to what actually happened.
    That was the thought.

I have a friend who's schizophrenic. He's medicated and generally
has a pretty good grasp on reality. He pays attention to baseball
    scores and standings at least.

I'd like to think my brother is doing reasonably, but
there's no real incentive to try to get much out of him.

Get someone who takes the job "because somebody has to do it"?
That hasn't happened to speak of since Eisenhower.
    Not that I can recall.
People who want power are most often those who ought to have the
    least of it.
    That problem has been noted.
The problem is getting those who don't want it to run.

Doesn't tend to be easy, either the candidacy or
    finding the right horse.

    I take it you've met a few?
    More than my share.
I've known two wealthy successful would-be
Ubermenschen who turned themselves into Frauen.
I've known folks who switched in both directions. Doing that
actually is a means to end confusion for some people.

That doesn't mention various other acquaintances of mine
who weren't wealthy successful would-be Ubermenschen.

I made aloo chhole for my Thursday dinner party.
Tried to imagine the potatoes replaced by
zucchini. Had to have my imagination washed out
    with soap.
    Cauliflower maybe?

A bit less gross, I admit.

United used to have a contract with Eli's Cheesecake,
but when that company got famous and decided to charge
the airline a fee, we ended up getting some no-name
product perhaps from Costco (it wasn't actually that
bad); now, the standards have started to slip and
with no one in particular to blame, so I'm envisioning
a patch of bumpy ride for the company and its passengers.
    And Twinkies in coach?

Plenty of nothing in coach, generally.

    Title: Cheesecake Cookies
Source: who thinks these things up, anyway?
    Someone on Chopped?
Someone who should have been chopped in one way
    or another.
    Given the chop.

    Chicken Chop/Croquette
    categories: appetizer, Indian, Bengali
    yield: 1 batch

400 g boneless chicken, cooked and minced
    1 md onion, minced
    1 Tb ginger garlic paste
    1 Tb masala Bengali bhaja
1 ts green chilli paste (or tt)
    2 c cilantro, chopped
    1/2 lemon, juice of
    1 lg potato, boiled, mashed
    salt
    2 eggs, Lightly beaten
    1 1/2 c breadcrumbs (or as needed)
h - For Bengali Bhaja Masala
    1 Tb cumin
    1 Tb coriander seeds
    1 Tb fennel seeds
    6 to 7 cloves
    6 to 7 cardamom, green
    1 1/2 in cinnamon
    2 bay leaves
    1 ts peppercorns

In a dry hot pan add all the ingredients for bhaja masala.
Dry roast for 5 min. Let cool for 5 min, then grind to a
    fine powder.

Heat 1 ts oil in a pan. Add minced onion; fry for 2 to 3
    min until translucent.

Add ginger garlic paste. Fry on low heat till the raw
smell goes away. Add 1 Tb prepared garam masala. Add
minced chicken and quickly give everything a mix.
Immediately switch off the gas. We are not going to
cook the chicken here. Remove the chicken mixture
to a mixing bowl. Add mashed potato, green chilli
paste, chopped coriander, lemon juice and salt. Mix
well. Take small portions of the chicken mixture.
Either shape them as patties or oblong shape.

Put breadcrumbs on a wide plate. Roll each chop in
the crumbs. Then dip the balls in the egg mixture.
Shake off any excess and roll the balls again in
    breadcrumb mixture.

Repeat for all the chops. On a tray arrange the
shaped chops with some spacing in between. Keep
in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hr to chill.

Heat enough oil for shallow frying in a pan.

Taking few chops at a time, fry them on medium-high
flame. Turn the chops once for even cooking. Repeat
for the rest of the chops.( Don't overcrowd the pan,
else you will end up in unevenly cooked chops.

Serve hot and crisp with ketchup and kasundi.

When/if it gets to that point. Pain isn't the problem though. Numb
is. They have all sorts of coping stuff for pain, but not much for
    the opposite problem.

Use it to make English food?

Maybe they ought to draft candidates along the lines of military

The keto folks seem to be doing it. All those "riced" veggies.

Do they even have bathrooms in coach these days?

That doesn't look bad, actually. What to do with leftover chicken.
