    Speaking of, did you know that Hemingway spelled bologna
    "polony"?

    I did not. That's a South African word. I wondered where he picked
    it up. I read his bio a long time ago. As I recall his safari trips
    were all in Kenya, Tanganyika and the Congo.

    MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Polony - South African Bologna
    Categories: African, Sausage
    Yield: 1 large batch

    10 kg Meat
    2 1/2 kg Fat
    Put through Mincer once
    1 kg Polony Spice
    40 g Cayenne Pepper
    50 g B.Bq no salt spice
    80 g Fresh ground Garlic
    1 bn Green Dhana
    1 c Green Chillies Grounded
    2 x 8kg Ice cold water
    Plastic Casing

    Add all spices and water to meat. Put through mincer twice. Fill
    the Polony cases one at a time. Boil a pot of water. Place Polony
    in the boiling water to cook till the polony surfaces to the top.
    Remove from water and let it cool completely then freeze.

    sauces (of your choice...ketchup, chilli, etc) ... a fantastic
    ending to night of drinking and partying! Can be bought at most
    local take-away shops.
