I've had pistachio ice cream that has been almond (or fakeI suppose the ice cream makers don't think there's that much difference between the two... and if it's colored green that will make it taste
almond) base with real pistachios beaten in: to me, that's
a waste of pistachios. On occasion I'd lick the ice cream
off the nuts and then eat the nuts separately. Or wait for
it to go all soupy the better to pick the nuts out.
like pistachio sufficiently....?
Dunno if that's true... as I said, I could try to remember to ask her sometime.... ;) In any case, I think I've known of some that don't like coffee at all, but are quite fond of chocolate.... which would tend to dispel your notion... :)I just wish I wasn't allergic to coffee.....
There are other offenses committed by coffee besides
bitterness.
Individual balance being less important in the scheme of things than balance on a larger scale, perhaps.... ;)Generally...
Individual imbalance affects just the individual;
institutional or collective imbalance affects everybody.
... Age isn't important unless you're a cheese. But is it age, or debility/lack thereof, that makes the difference...?
Age is important, sadly enough.
... Avoid exposure to the dangerous local cuisine.

Certainly the manufacturers weren't under that delusion - it
must rather have been that pistachio is a difficult flavor to
synthesize, so why bother. I'd have far preferred unflavored
(sweet cream, they call it) ice cream with nuts in it - truer
in every way as well as more aesthetically pleasing.

I just wish I weren't sensitive to caffeine - decaf seldom
if ever tastes as good as the real thing.

Individuals even when beset by internal weirdnesses
usually can hold it together enough that their impact
on the real world is minimal. There are glaring and
often horrible exceptions. There probably have also
been cases when institutional imbalances haven't
caused any major disasters.

If there were a possible disconnect between the two,
as in Dorian Gray or Methuselah or vampires, your point
would be better taken. I don't think that there's a
documented case of humans being immune to that
correspondence. If you could vacuum pack us, maybe.

Funny thing is that local guides as recent as half a
century ago often used to take that attitude.
