Very much so. Steve found out something interesting about mosquitoes
the other day--they tend to prefer people with type O blood over
others. His is O; he gets eaten alive. Mine is B and they ignore me,
for the most part. Guess O tastes better. (G)

I had not heard that. I had heard that they are attracted to people who
drink beer -- which leaves the two of you safe from that score. I once mentioned it as a possible reason they are attracted to Michael.

Not fun. I had my last therapy session today but will continue with
home exercises. He said that in time, this will become my "good" knee.

Good news. I have also been going to PT, balance problems leading to a
fall a few months back. Fortunately the fall did nothing more than a
skinned elbow, but was scary enough that my primary doc sent me to PT.

So we need to know Michael's blood type to see if the theory about that
holds true. Might be fun/interesting to do a survery of those at the
picnic to widen the data base. (G)

Not a bad idea for anybody having problems. The therapists can not only
teach you how to strenghten a weak area but also how to safely work
around problem areas if needs be. I was able to briefly kneel on the new
knee the other day for the first time in years. They also had me try
squatting (unable to do with prior knee injury)--a bit rough on that
last week but much better when I went back on Friday. Strength and
extention are very good but flex (back range of motion) isn't as good
as the left knee; it may come in time.

The beer theory wouldn't apply to me either... (G) However, I am Type
O... that could possibly explain things...

PT can be a very useful thing to build up muscles and strengthen
ligaments and all that are needed for balance... especially ones you
didn't realize were involved.... :) Are you seeing much progress...?

They keep telling me that there are multiple (three?) things
contributing. Leg muscles, ear and visual. The last one is clearly demonstrated to me by excercises where they have me shut my eyes, while
doing something that is already taxing on the balance ability. It only
takes about 15 seconds before I start seriously leaning to the point of
needing to grab onto the bars that are there for just that possibility.

Good proof of concept... (G) So at least the PT is showing you all the
areas that need working on... ;) Is it helping any yet...?
